I'm Tom Wideman (Thomas A. Wideman, if you want to be official).
In 1998, I got my dream job -- as a pilot for American Airlines; I'm now a First Officer on the Boeing 757 and 767; I previously flew the Boeing 727 as a Flight Engineer and First Officer, and the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 as a First Officer. Before that, I spent 11 years as a pilot for American Eagle, flying the Saab 340B, Metroliner and Jetstream 32. I grew up (well, got older) in Morgan Hill, California, and Searcy, Arkansas, where I attended Harding Academy and Harding University while flying at the Searcy Municipal Airport.
I live in Grapevine, Texas, with my wife, Kathy, my daughters, Sarah Beth and Emily, and my son Justin. My interests include aviation of (almost) all forms, especially gliding and soaring, astronomy, fishing, cooking, humor, model rocketry, stunt kites, Macintosh computers, reading (especially Arthur C. Clarke, Tom Clancy, and Michael Crichton), and movies, along with about a billion other things, especially things with gadgets.
My address and phone numbers:
Of course, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
